Top Six Tips for Proper Spring Maintenance on Your Honda!

  1. Check Your Tire Pressure: Drastically-changing weather patterns can cause the air pressure in your tires to decrease, so it is essential that you check the pressure of your tires to ensure they remain properly inflated. The correct pounds per square inch (PSI) of your tires can be found stamped on the sides of the tires themselves. If you have winter tires, studded or otherwise, you should have new all-season or summer tires mounted on soon.
  2. Check Your Fluid Levels: During the winter, excess power used by the engine to warm up the vehicles can cause more drastic depletions of fluids such as wiper fluid and coolant. Both of these fluids, however, are exceptionally important during the upcoming spring and summer months, so ensure that they are properly filled underneath the hood. You may also schedule an appointment for an oil change online through our service center, we are just a short drive away from Hickory.
  3. Check your Brakes: If you feel the brakes on your Honda model are not responding as quickly or feel otherwise different when driving through Marion, it may be time to have them replaced.
  4. Look for Rust Under the Car: Driving through the streets during the winter involves driving on a lot of ice and road salt, which can get sprinkled up and down the undercarriage of your Honda. Be sure to schedule a car wash to get excess salt and other forms of grime, out of the vehicle as all of these factors can leave long-term corrosion damage.
  5. Inspect Air Filters: Be sure to test your air conditioning to make sure the air flowing is cool enough and be sure to locate and inspect the air filters to see if they are still clean. Using the heat during winter months can cause excess wear on the cabin air filters as can excess dust and other particulates, so it is essential that your filters be inspected and replaced as needed.
  6. Consider Replacing Windshield Wiper Blades: While all parts on a Honda model are built to last, your windshield wipers often work overtime during the winter months to clear your Honda of excess ice and snow, so you can expect them to wear down a bit. Consider ordering new blades through our parts center.
